About the team

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure

Right now, we have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Construction Carpenter to be part of our Regional Maintenance team based in Grafton, NSW.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible in carrying out all carpentry trade activities, including the maintenance of bridges and structures and carry out duties that are within the scope of the trade. Working under limited supervision, you will generally perform a wide range of advanced on-trades functions which you have acquired through experience and formal training. You will also be required to work at heights and travell away from home as part of this role.

About you

We’re seeking a trade qualified carpenter with excellent communication skills and enjoy working towards delivering results in a team environment. You hold one of the following trades:

  • Carpenter and Joiner; Construction Carpenter; Bridge and Wharf Carpenter; Civil Engineering Construction Carpenter; or equivalent

You have the ability to identify and report safety and environmental hazards in the workplace and rectify those without direction and report accordingly. You will also have the capability to achieve quality standards and follow established quality procedures within the scope of training provided in the role.

Finally, you hold a White Card, a current drivers licence, and are able to work outside normal working hours, attend call-outs, travel across the region and stay away from home when needed.

Whilst not essential, a MR Truck license and Traffic Control tickets are desirable.

Applicants must be based within 100km of the depot in Grafton NSW or willing to relocate to within 100km of the depot in Grafton.

Wage and Benefits

The salary for this position is Grade 1 - 2 ($1,264.01 - $1,327.25) per week plus superannuation.
