Due to continued growth we now have the opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer SMP to join our Projects Department.

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager this position is offered on a maximum term contract will be see your time split between our Perth Head Office and site.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Apply due care of the environment, health and safety of yourself and others
  • Responsible for detailing and documenting information regarding all the construction phases of projects
  • Plan all materials for new construction ensuring optimal utilisation of all resources
  • Administer vendor orders and ensure compliance to all timeframe for all fabricated products
  • Identify, investigate, record, monitor and report on actions, resolution and costs of identified vendor NCRs
  • Interpret standard specifications and typical/standard drawings to reflect current industry standards
  • Manage scheduling of work and specific priorities
  • Preparation of detailed work-packs
  • Provide weekly & monthly production data and safety statistics for reports
  • Assist the Project Manager/planner to prepare schedules for the project
  • Ensure that all variations to scope and or specifications are approved and documented
  • Set up and maintain orderly project directory files and ensure that schedules, drawings and correspondence are recorded, stored and distributed in accordance with approved procedures
  • Refer any major problems during a project's duration to the Project Manager or relevant functional manager

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or significant quality management experience
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design concepts and practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of fabrication, engineering construction
  • Extensive experience of structural, mechanical and piping construction and an awareness of Electrical works
  • Shutdown experience
  • Efficient at diagnosing and resolving design and functional issues arising in the course of construction
  • Contract management experience
  • Able to communicate efficiently as part of an integrated project team, involving stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to expedite vendors and facilitate sub-contractor inspections
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to deliver high quality work under strict deadlines
  • Full Australian work rights and be a resident of Perth
  • A valid West Australian C class drivers' licence or national equivalent
  • Be able to successfully complete ongoing Alcohol & Other Drugs Screens
  • Be available to spent periods of time away from home

This role requires you to be able to provide a National Police Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
