Are you an experienced civil engineer looking to take a lead role in managing the delivery of roads infrastructure projects? An opportunity has become available for a Principal Engineer (Civil) to join the Delivery & Operations team within Far North District, based in Cairns.
As a Principal Engineer (Civil), you will have the opportunity to manage the operational aspects of the delivery of individual projects from local road infrastructure programs and provide specialist technical expertise to project activities through effective leadership to project managers.

We are seeking a skilled civil engineer with demonstrated experience in project management, managing or supervising a team and/or experience in road network or structures asset management.
If you are enthusiastic, willing to learn new skills and are a motivated, qualified civil engineer who wants to take the next step in your career then this role is for you.
Applications for this role may be used to appoint to similar vacancies (permanent and temporary) within Far North District for a specified period up to 12 months after the closing date of the initial vacancy.
Mandatory requirements:
- A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position
- Current C class driver licence
