Digital Credentials as a Serviceprovides an integrated digital credentials ecosystem benefiting from ongoingmaintenance, updates, and upgrades as and when they become available.

Great Initiatives:

  • No more wallets! We want to digitise every licence NSW has to offer. The big one we are working on is the Digital Driver Licence but there is lots more after that.
  • We are going above and beyond the digitisation of plastic licences and exploring exiting new opportunities to enhance the experience of, providing, holding, and checking licences and credentials in a digital world.

What modern technologies?

  • The answer to all of life's problems is more RAM. The Mac, PC, or Linux devices we use to write and run our code are pretty freakin' powerful.
  • We have commitment issues. The software and tools we use are the latest and greatest. We are always ready to adapt if something better comes along.
  • "It's not available in Australia" does not apply to us. We do stand ups, scrums, and meetings with a little extra flair by using tools like Miro to write, draw, swipe, and emoji our points across.
  • Our flexible working puts yoga instructors to shame. We can work, collaborate, email, share, hangout, or chat from wherever we are.

About You:

  • Strong experience microservice based backend development and a passion for Typescript/JavaScript. You have developed a variety of platforms and have the ability to align API requirements with different teams. Either way, you know what makes microservices special and love building them with the best practices and scalable methodologies. We'd love to see 3+ years in Back End development and how this was accomplished.
  • Proficient in Typescript/Javascript, and an understanding CSharp, C/C++ would be beneficial but not essential. An understanding of asynchronous programming using async & await, and RxJS experience is preferred. Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jest and CI/CD pipelines such as gitlab is also highly regarded. The most important thing is your openness to upskilling yourself, continuously improving the product, your capabilities, and uplifting those around you.
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills. You encourage diversity of thought, thrive in a team environment, and do your best work while pair programming. You have top notch facilitation skills that guide discussions into outcomes, and maybe you have some leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Customer-oriented and proud. You are motivated by, and take ownership of, delivering valuable outcomes to the people who use your software.
  • Continuous improvement forever! You are a lifelong learner, always driven to improve processes and outcomes. You value close feedback loops, and the concepts of iteration and incremental improvement.
  • Security-minded. You have a passion for security by design, and exposure to or interest in security engineering as concept.

Your Role:

  • Design and implement elegant software solutions to deliver real customer solutions.
  • Help improve the software delivery system, including decreasing build times, increasing automated tests.
  • Help mentor other team members and share your knowledge

A talent pool may be created for futureongoing and temporary roles and is valid for a period of up to 18 months.Employment to Service NSW is subject to a satisfactory national criminal recordcheck.
