About the role:

You’ll take a lead role in providing design and commissioning services in control/automation, SCADA and the layout of electrical installations in environments including switchyards, substations, switchgear, and cabling systems. This includes field and technical support to service both internal and external clients.

You’ll support and deliver projects across all stages, including concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility, system design, construction, commissioning and on-going operations of assets, and deliver technical studies, advisory services and product development.

The best candidates will also be able to provide leading technical engineering advice and expertise in hybrid control systems for off-grid and on-grid hybrid power system development, including solution identification, conceptualisation, specification & design, commissioning, and investigation of hybrid system architecture.

What you’ll do:

  • Detailed designs based on project requirements
  • Technical reviews and support in regard to projects, including provision of technical direction, compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant industry standards, procedures, and risk management processes
  • Specialised technical advice when bidding for work in specialist areas
  • Advise on project concept and conduct review/approval of detailed design
  • Provide telemetry, automation system design and testing including data communications protocols/interfaces, networking, device programming, device configuration and field testing/commissioning, including detailed reporting

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in control engineering, hybrid energy systems and SCADA, ideally applied to power stations, switchyards, substations or utility scale renewables
  • You are a true team player, equally adept in field and office work, with the ability to supervise site teams whilst showing initiative, and a “can do” attitude
  • Experience in design and installation of renewable and hybrid energy power systems
  • Experience in integration of generation, protection and control systems utilising advanced control and communications equipment
  • A high level of competency in interfacing with PLCs, RTUs, and other related devices, which are essential in generator, distribution and renewable power schemes
  • Experience in automation system design
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering
