Relevant industry experience, preferably 3-5 years minimum within an estimating role
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, including specifications & schedules
The ability to liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers. Sound written and verbal communication skills are essential.
A methodical approach to internal document control
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think analytically
Keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
The ability to review and query subcontractor quotes to ensure compliance with tender documentation
Knowledge of local rates for materials and labour to assist with developing project budgets
Experience with CostX Estimating software (or similar) to produce accurate take-offs.
Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Project and Excel
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team
A proactive attitude and the ability to work autonomously
Experience with scheduling desirable, but not a must
A trade qualification or tertiary degree would be highly regarded but is not essential.
