We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate Engineer (Electrical Signalling) who will receive valuable support and mentoring from business leaders, allowing them to gain real-world experiences, on the job training and an unrivalled advantage over other graduates.

About the role 

You will join a team that supports flexible work arrangements however you will also need to be available to travel throughout Queensland regularly. In addition, you will:

  • Perform assignments in the office or the field in relation to signal and operational systems engineering activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of concept proposals, feasibility studies and specifications for signal and operational systems.
  • Design configuration of signal and operational systems for applications for all types of hardware platforms.
  • Carry out verification and validation activities of the safety related signal and operational systems as directed.Assist in incident investigations, fault analysis and signalling maintenance issues.

What to expect

  • Base salary is $66,094 + generous super.
  • You must be willing to work away from home (when required) however travelling for field work will be part of your working hours. Queensland Rail will also pay for your accommodation when staying away from home.

About you

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronic)
  • Sound level of skill in the application of engineering methods to solve problems.
  • Sound knowledge of discrete logic design principles and Boolean expressions.
  • Sound knowledge of computer control systems and computer engineeringconcepts.
  • Sound level of skill in the use of commercial application software or preparation of reports and engineering computations.
  • Sound level of skill in oral communication and in writing clear concise technical reports for managerial, technical and non-technical persons.
  • Sound level of skill in communicating with technical and non-technical staff and form part of a team.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to commit to and work within Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours.
