Job Title

Lead, Reliability EngineeringThe Enterprise Monitoring team offers robust event management, correlation, automation and run book solutions to help MasterCard deliver continuous up-time of business services and applications, optimize operations costs and efficiency. This individual will work closely with technology support teams and application teams to build monitoring and automation solutions to improve the application and infrastructure availability.
1) Have you resolved a complex application availability issue with monitoring and automation?
2) Are you a self-started with minimal direction and guidance?
3) Have you ever been part of a team with diverse skills and experience located in different geographical locations/time zones?

Role:
• Subject matter expertise in SolarWinds Orion platform and other Network performance monitoring products.
• Familiarity with IBM Tivoli Network Manager (ITNM) 3.9 or above is a plus, including configuration of device discovery, addition / removal /troubleshooting of IP devices, SNMP walk management, and troubleshooting of related issues.
• Experience with a variety of enterprise storage and networking systems, and especially with Cisco equipment
• Ability to drive from customer monitoring requirements to a technical solution with minimal supervision.
• Support business disaster recovery procedures for assigned areas of responsibility.
• On-call administration and operations support.
• Maintain design and support documents for all built solutions and processes.

All About You
• Advanced user level expertise in UNIX and/or Red Hat Linux.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts is MUST
• Proficient with some type of scripting or programming language such as Perl and shell scripting
• Solid knowledge of operating systems, infrastructure software, communications, computer hardware and peripherals.
• Strong command of multi-platform OS, communication software and hardware, network, web infrastructure security software and application subsystems
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
• Self-starter that demonstrates an appropriate sense of urgency related to the ask or needs of the business
• Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
• Ability to mentor and educate junior members of the team
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Document processes, procedures and coordinate appropriate training/knowledge transfer
