Position: Wall and Floor Tiler

Hours: Full-Time 38 Hours per week

Kapiti Building and Tiling Services is a well established mobile tiling business that operates in the Sydney metro area. We take pride in providing a quality service to our customers and a positive work environment for our employees.

We are looking for an experienced wall and floor tiler experienced to join our team full-time. 

Responsibilities/Duties

• examining plans, measuring and marking surfaces and laying out work
• preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces
• spreading adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles, and setting tiles in position
• using tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles needed for edges and corners, and around objects such as fittings and pipes
• ensuring tiles are correctly aligned and spaced
• grouting tiles, and cleaning and removing excess grout
• Mark surfaced for layout
• Scrap off excess and do clean up procedure
• Set tiles in position and cut and shape tiles needed for planned area
• Remove all the spacers after ensuring tiles lay out correctly

Qualifications/Skills

The right candidate must be competent in laying mosaics and must have their own car and tools.

The successful applicant should also have prior experience in:

• Setting up and setting out of work sites;
• Laying Kerlite 1mtr x 3mtr tiles on floor and walls
• Tile Setting: 4 years (Preferred)
• Laying Large Format Tiles: 2 years (Required)
• Be reliable and have great work ethic
• Be able to work well under pressure and be supportive within a team environment

Australian Citizens and Permanent Resident preferred but open to sponsorship for the right candidate.
