JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client specialises in the fabrication and installation of facade / aluminium windows to the commercial, residential, health care and government mid to high rise construction markets mainly in Victoria but also possesses good market share in New South Wales and Queensland.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial / Lead Estimator to join their team. You will be part of a medium size team working closely with the director and leading a small estimation ream on variety of tier 1 & 2 projects. The scope of works will include: Offices development, high end residential, mixed used developments, shopping centre complexes, hospitals and tertiary education buildings to name a few.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting requirements from tenders, orders, drawings and plans
  • Accurate plan take-off and specification / product compliance against relevant codes and regulations
  • Providing accurate and timely quotes
  • Dealing effectively with phone and email enquiries

The Person:

  • A proven estimating track record in the glazing aluminium sector with V6 competency preferred
  • Requires an understanding and experience with the National Construction Code and subsequent application of the various Australian Standards
  • Ability to read plans and produce accurate and timely quotes, query and tender responses and variations
  • Previous material (from internal and external sources) and subcontractor procurement experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent communication with external clients, suppliers, internal teams and subcontractors
  • Excellent mathematical and literacy skills
  • Ability to bring new business
  • Ability to form and maintain strong relationships with client and internal staff
  • Strong troubleshooting, prioritising and organisational skills
