Title: Senior Project Engineer

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Senior Project Engineer to join the KBR team in Sydney. This role will be embedded with one of our major clients.

Working together, our collective goal is to deliver an efficient capital program and infrastructure projects, safely, on time, within budget and to customer and community expectations.

This team will manage the development and delivery of one of the largest investments in water supply infrastructure in generations, including new dams and a range of further projects under development.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Project Director we are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to help develop and lead a high performing integrated client/delivery partner team to deliver the safe, efficient and responsible delivery of a large portfolio of approximately $400M capital investment of diverse water and/or wastewater infrastructure programs and projects from inception to close out.

As a key member and leader of this team, you will be required to:

  • Work with the Project Director, organizational business leadership, third parties and delivery partners in shaping and implementing delivery strategies to achieve outstanding project and program outcomes
  • Be a key member of high performing integrated and multi-disciplinary project team that are engaged and highly focused on a great customer experience.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with your team, delivery partners, key internal and external stakeholders and third parties.
  • Work with the Project Director to ensure a portfolio of projects or programs are delivered safely, on time and in accordance with cost, technical, environmental, operational, and social requirements.
  • Lead and drive progress of design development, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases across several concurrent projects or programs through a variety of contractual models.
  • Manage and confidently report to key internal, external stakeholders and third parties at all levels on program/project scope, cost, time, risk, social, environmental aspects.
  • Ensure legislative and policy compliance, including safety, procurement, water quality, risk, and environment.
To succeed in this opportunity the skills and experience required are:

Essential:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in infrastructure/construction sector ideally with water project experience
  • Project / Program Management experience
  • Knowledge and experience of the project life cycle
  • Experience working to develop Alliance style project delivery teams
  • Knowledge of engineering design processes for infrastructure projects
  • Program Management experience
  • Commercial management experience
