O’Brien Electrical and Industrial Automation Hallam is a specialist provider of Industrial Electrical and Automation services. Our clients are diverse and comprise OEM’s and manufacturers from a broad range of industries.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Industrial Electrical Automation and Controls Engineer with a minimum of 5 years related hands-on industrial automation and control engineering experience.
Our Automation and Controls Engineers require broad skills. They include a high level of programming and control application competency as well as interpersonal and organisational skills for a role that can comprise full project life cycle works and working closely with our industrial electrical trades team.
Most of our work is throughout Melbourne’s South-East, with a lesser quantity of clients spread
further. There could also be requirements for interstate work from time to time.
Required Skills include -
- Proven experience in programming, commissioning and fault-finding PLC, HMI, SCADA, motor control and positioning systems to a high level.
- Experience in Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron and Citect preferred, however experience in other vendor platforms considered.
- Some knowledge of process control within the food industry, robotics and vision systems would be regarded.
- Must either have achieved a degree in Automation, Electrical or Mechatronics
Engineering, or an Electrical trade certification with related automation post trade studies and achievements. - Competent in electrical drawing. AutoCAD skills desirable.
- Experience in automation and control project design and deliverables to Australian Standards including wiring rules, electrical equipment of electrical machines and safety of machinery.
- A track record in consulting with clients to establish requirements and scope of works including support with preparation, design and generation of proposals.
- Proficient in use of scheduling software.
