Essential Queensland (EQ) is a company that produces natural pine rosin, natural pine terpenes and pine wood chip using environmentally sustainable and responsible processes by extracting the chemicals from pine plantations. EQ is a fully owned subsidiary of ASX listed company Leaf Resources. The new factory at Childers in Queensland is now operational and EQ is seeking great people to join our company. 

About the role:

Reporting to the senior management. You will be required to lead the electrical project work and design of the project. You are to perform appropriate electrical upkeep and ensure the design and electrical systems are up to standard to ensure the plant is running at optimum level. Can be a full-time employment or a contract basis, as negotiated. This is a full time position where we must be your number one priority.

The responsibilities of the role will include (but will not be limited to) you to manage, supervise and implement the following as required:

  • Project design drawings
  • Phase design implementation
  • Zoning
  • Instrumentation work
  • Project work
  • Apply sound engineering skills to the design of electrical subsystems
  • Design, develop and test the electrical systems
  • Work closely with our team of engineers to optimise designs
  • Work closely with our project team to ensure the goals are met
  • General work on pumps and motors
  • Failure to any part of plant maintenance 
  • Master control rooms 
  • Pump settings
  • Effective planning and daily business operations, process control implementation and training
  • Health and Safety implementation and training
  • Plant development, quality procedures and general maintenance of equipment
  • Learn plant instruments and process control mechanisms and maintain them
  • Able to adjust to change and respond accordingly
  • Continuously looking to improve productivity and reach high levels of operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures, providing resources and training
  • Writing reports and keeping good maintenance records
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including processing maintenance and management
  • Wiring and setting up electrical equipment
  • Experienced and/or willing to train for work with class 3 equipment, in-line with Australian electrical standards

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have proven capabilities and strengths in the following competencies:

  • Degree in electrical/electronic engineering
  • Experience in industrial wiring and process control
  • Have experience of instrumentation or be willing to obtain training
  • Australian Citizen or Resident preferred
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
  • Knowledgeable in process control and PLC operations or able to learn
  • Leadership experience
  • Knowledge of machines and tools
  • Solid communication and computer skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
