The GDK Group, Australia’s leading joinery and architectural components manufacturer is seeking qualified carpenter and joiners to work in its modern facility at Wetherill Park.

About Us

The GDK Group is a multi-disciplined manufacturer of acoustic panelling, timber wall and ceiling panels and customised design finishes, with over 25 years of experience providing quality, superior service to the Australian and international markets.

About the Role

We require qualified tradespeople able to construct, assemble, erect, install, renovate and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials, and cut, shape and fit timber parts to form structures and fittings.

The successful candidate will be competent in the following aspects of the role:

  • Experience reading plans, including the ability to read drawings and sketches to fully understand job requirements
  • Follow specifications and standards to estimate, order and select timbers and materials required based on job requirements.
  • Preparing layouts according to job dimensions and assembly and installation procedures
  • Cut, shape and smooth materials, assembling and nailing parts according to plans
  • Build and instal joinery framework and panelling, verifying trueness and ensuring structures meet specifications
  • Repair existing fittings when required
  • Some experience with plastic laminates, perspex and metals would also be an advantage.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • At least an AQF Certificate III in Carpentry and/or Joinery;
  • Must have at least four years employment experience (post qualification)
  • Hold a current White card
  • Have a current NSW driver licence
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • A positive and motivated attitude, together with a sense of pride in your work
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of our team.
