About the role
Mechanical and Boiler & Turbine Engineer - Reliability

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the purpose of the role is to develop, deploy and continuously improve maintenance work management strategies for the Fixed Plant and Energy Recovery Unit (ERU) at the Operation. This role will ensure the effectiveness of work strategies, work plans, statutory and legislative requirements and provide organisational governance in the application of ERP processes while promoting and understanding of and compliance to ERP principles.

Other accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and develop equipment maintenance strategies, ensuring adequate information is captured in task list and work instructions to perform tasks to the required standard safely;
  • Identify all equipment requiring inspections and repairs based on legislative and statutory requirements and create Safety Critical Equipment master data in ERP;
  • Develop and deploy maintenance strategies to meet the requirements of Safety Critical Equipment and ensure adherence to statutory plans;
  • Develop budgets based on the preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies;
  • Perform equipment strategy reviews and failure analysis;
  • Assess, develop, initiate and accept modifications to assets;
  • Assess and action condition-based information for critical equipment to improve plant and equipment availability; and
  • Champion safety through observation, intervention and direction and the development of safe working procedures.

About you
  • Tertiary qualification in applicable Engineering and/or Science discipline
  • Relevant post-secondary certificates required for respective trade / work discipline in local jurisdiction
  • Must possess a current high-risk ticket for Boiler Advanced – (BA) and Turbine Operation – (TO) to support the Energy recovery unit on site
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Detailed knowledge of principles and concepts related to operating and maintaining operational equipment
  • Experience in both Fixed Plant and Energy Recovery Unit (Boilers and Turbines) reliability
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple groups of internal stakeholders, contractors and other Specialists
