JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re Slyp. And we’re on a mission to eliminate paper receipts for good. Founded by former PayPal executives in 2017 and now backed by the four major banks, Slyp is an award-winning retail-fintech transforming the world of receipts.

In Australia alone, we are printing over 1 billion meters of non-recyclable paper receipts each year. But this is just the start of the problem – we believe receipts are also a missed opportunity to understand and engage shoppers’ post-purchase.

Slyp automatically delivers a revolutionary smart receipt right inside your banking app to create a seamless customer experience. With Slyp, customers pay as normal and can immediately view and interact with their smart receipts in their mobile banking app, anytime.

Our values (‘the Slyp six’) form the heart of everything we do. And they are part of the reason we have attracted a dream team from companies like Uber, PayPal, Canva, Atlassian, and Trip Advisor to help us do something great, together.

Our DevOps team is growing fast. We have a large pipeline of infrastructure related projects ranging from ensuring high availability, exceptional performance, and the continued scalability of the platform. This is your chance to join as part of Slyp’s foundational team as we shape the future of data driven retail experiences.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to improve engineering tools, procedures, and data security.
  • Mentor the engineering teams on doing infrastructure the right way through best practices.
  • Conduct system testing around platform / infrastructure security, performance, and availability.
  • Be the owner of all things AWS and driving a DevOps culture.

Requirements

  • You have a deep knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and services including CloudFormation, ELB / ALB, API Gateway, Kinesis, Lambda, ElasticCache, ElasticSearch, DynamoDB, Aurora, S3.
  • Experience in containerisation especially around Kubernetes and EKS.
  • You are skilled at automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Practical experience in cloud software engineering and best practices with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with security best practices on cloud environments around data management.
  • Exposure to configuration management tools such as Ansible.
  • Exposure to network management and diagnostics.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary + equity

  • Always-on team fun

We know that our success has been because of the unique backgrounds and contributions of our team. So even if you only meet some of the requirements, we’d still love to hear from you.
