Job Description

As a Graduate: Mining Engineer, you will learn how to deliver best practice mining engineering services. You will support our Zero Harm vision, ensuring compliance with all safety systems and legislation. You will have the opportunity and the guidance in this role to contribute to the effective management of ventilation, gas, mine planning in both Short Term and Medium Term, scheduling, and technical projects. You will actively engage daily with Anglo Americans Production Teams and Technical Services Teams to ensure processes are optimised and continuously increasing operational efficiency.

This is a permanent opportunity for graduates who want to have a smarter future within mining. Initially, you will be offered a two-year graduate program with Metallurgical Coal rotating to one or more of our sites located across Queensland (two twelve-month placements). You have the chance to make a difference in real projects and work across open cut and underground mining.

Do you have what we’re looking for?

You need to:

  • Have a degree or postgraduate degree (Honours or Masters) in Mining Engineering or relevant disciplines to Mining Engineering.
  • Have completed your degree within the last 2 years or are due to graduate by January or June 2022.
  • Have no more than two years of relevant work experience.
  • Be a team player with strong leadership potential.
  • Demonstrate drive, ambition and a passion for challenging work in our operations.
  • Be available to work in remote areas of Central Queensland as part of the Graduate Program (relocation package provided).
