The Safe Step are excited to again partner with SunRice Group to secure their final key leadership position to deliver their HSE recruitment strategy to ensure capability is in place to execute the refreshed HSE strategy and transformation plan in play.

About the Role 
SunRice are looking to recruit a Group HSE Operations and Transport Safety Manager to be responsible for the implementation of the Group Safety Strategy and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) Standard. You will provide operational HSE and CoR advice and support to all leaders, and deliver initiatives that continually improve culture and performance in line with the Group Safety Strategy to achieve a vision of ‘Zero Harm’.

This includes: leadership, culture, program delivery, and risk and issue management together with compliance for the SunRice Group.

Key results will be seen across:

  • A transformed, compliance based culture to one of individual ownership and accountability; bottom up approach
  • Development of an engaged, empowered and enabled employees and contractor base that keep themselves and others free from harm or illness
  • The transfer of safety management and CoR responsibility to all levels within a global organisation, whilst maintaining Subject Matter Expert (SME) support and leadership to operational management to meet goals and objectives
  • Engagement at all levels including managing stakeholder expectations
  • Delivery of a mature operational safety management and CoR plans which supports the Group
  • Execution of the Safety Strategy to achieve our vision of ‘Zero Harm’

About You 

  • You are a strong relationship builder of both internal clients and external stakeholders
  • Extensive practical experience in an HSE and Transport Safety (CoR) role, with ideally a focus on agricultural FMCG, Transport and / or Manufacturing
  • Detailed knowledge of HSE and CoR legislation (HVNL), industry standards and management systems standards (AS4801, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001, ideally in a global organisation or large national organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and influencing business wide strategies, programs and initiatives in collaboration with business partners
  • Experience in relationship management of both internal clients and external stakeholders
  • Working experience in leading HSE teams across large geographical remit
