INF-122 ENGINEER – WATER & WASTEWATER
Charters Towers Regional Council are seeking a professional Engineer with a sound knowledge of water and wastewater systems and asset management principles.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position provides essential asset management and project management services and support for the Water and Wastewater functions of Council. The position will be required to control, coordinate and support capital works, projects and maintenance programs, update and maintain the asset management systems, including registers and modelling criteria for asset maintenance and capital works programs to ensure effective delivery and commissioning of assets.
The position also provides organisational support and project management for minor projects undertaken in the Water and Wastewater systems to ensure effective delivery and commissioning of assets and may be required to supervise operations staff in a relief capacity from time to time as required.
Employment Status: Full Time, Permanent
Award: Level 7 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017, depending on qualifications and experience
Salary Range: $93,585.00 gross per annum .
ABOUT YOU
| Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Well-developed problem solving, research and analytical skills.
- Sound knowledge of water and wastewater systems and asset management principles, and relevant industry standards and legislative requirements. This applies to infrastructure assets as they relate to local government.
- Demonstrated understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment and delivery processes.
- Experience in the use of asset management systems and the ability to analyse and report on data.
- Experience in management of contractors and understanding of contractual systems used in construction and maintenance.
- Sound understanding of budget and financial performance management.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of persons at all levels.
- Good organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to determine work priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Technical Software Applications.
| Essential Education/Qualifications |
- Bachelor of Engineering
- Qualifications in Project Management, Asset Management or equivalent experience in an asset management role.
| Essential Licences |
- This position requires possession of a valid C class Queensland driver’s licence.
