JOB DESCRIPTION

Minus40 Engineers are a small but specialised engineering consulting firm offering a range of professional services in the design and improvement of industrial and commercial heating, cooling and refrigeration fields across Australia and New Zealand. This is an outstanding opportunity for a graduate engineer to gain specialist skills in the engineering design of safe and energy efficient refrigeration systems using the latest environmentally beneficial technologies.

The successful candidate will work closely with the principal/director on a range of current projects and will be expected to work flexibly both from home and from the Dural office (North West Sydney) as required.

Your daily duties will include some or all of the following:

  •  Detailed and conceptual design and documentation of industrial (and commercial) refrigeration systems across a wide range of applications. This will include equipment selection, P&ID preparation, CAD drawings of equipment arrangement, preparation of functional descriptions and operation/maintenance manuals, etc.
  • Refrigeration system component sizing and selection, using spreadsheets and various supplier selection software tools.
  • Coordination with equipment suppliers to obtain equipment selections and commercial proposals.
  • Analysis of actual downloaded plant operating data using Excel or Tableau and generation of graphical results.
  • Energy modelling, either by way of spreadsheet analysis or advanced modelling software.
  • Project scoping, tender document preparation, cost estimation, tender evaluation and preparation of recommendation reports and presentations.
