Your new role
Your new role as a Town Planner will involve working within the team to provide support and guidance on various projects. You'll have a hand in all stages of the development, from conception - including site visits and initial consultation, through to drafting up and reviewing the Development Application against relevant legislation and implementing compliance feedback. The role will include reviewing plans and sub-consultants reports and work towards submitting suitable proposals to Council, implementing feedback to ensure compliance. Your expertise in this space will allow you to show innovation in how you take on and work with the brief. These are your primary responsibilities, along with assisting the team with any general office duties.

A tertiary qualification in Town Planning is required; the ideal candidate would likely have 3-4 years' experience in a Town Planner capacity, with exposure in both public and private sector being beneficial. More junior applicants will also be considered for this position. A team focused and positive attitude is key for the role, with time management skills and ability to work autonomously being highly regarded. Due to the requirements of the role, you will be expected to have sound technical knowledge of local planning legislation and be able to put your understanding into practice in order to hit the ground running. Client and consultant liaising will also be an important in successfully keeping your projects on track, so an understanding around Development Application processes is important.

You will be given an opportunity to grow in a busy and productive team environment, surrounded by likeminded professionals who actively strive for the success of the team.
