Your new company
Client is public sector organisation based in the inner north of Brisbane’s CBD. The department acts as essentially an in-house consultancy to provide health and safety advice and support to the rest of the organisation with a particularly strong focus on the areas of highest risk. That is traditionally the Civil construction / maintenance teams plus smaller sections of build, landscaping and transport sector.
The team is looking to engage the services of a suitable qualified Health and Safety Officer with broad experience and ideally some specialised knowledge in Civils / traffic management plans (MUTCD / austroads) to help with an important project requirement

Your new role
Role is part head office and part field based. In office will be working to provide specialise workplace advice to variety of business areas to ensure that risk is managed well and the organisations approach is consistent with legislation, sound principles and practices.
The site based work is usually construction (especially civil) related and involves working to support in house crews as well as providing oversight of external contractors working on behalf of the organisation. The role will hopefully bring some expertise around civils and especially traffic management plans so be strong with MUTCD and Austroad guidelines

What you'll need to succeed
Candidates need to be tertiary qualified (cert 4 or above) and have some experience in similar broad role. Candidates would ideally have experience of civil construction / maintenance and ideally some experience of providing oversight to external consultancies so perhaps worked with consultancy or similar public sector department

What you'll get in return
Client offering an interesting broad role in organisation that places high value on having a good work life balance. They are looking at pay rates between 45-50ph plus super depending on experience for a 38 hour week.
