Reliability Engineer - Smelting

to join our long term client in Tasmania. This is residential Mon-Fri role with long term career development.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
Design and deliver strategies to create value, reduce cost and embed maintenance as a profession to support people to operate at their best. We achieve this by creating best-practice strategies across equipment classes, and making sure we are doing the right maintenance work to maximise reliability, availability and equipment life at efficient cost.

Reliability Engineer:
Support the team by:

  • delivering best practice preventative maintenance strategies for fixed plant equipment
  • deploying maintenance strategies in SAP, and
  • designing and deploying solutions to known issues on site (under performing equipment) using known reliability approaches, such as RCAs, downtime analysis etc.

About You:

  • Mechanical or Electrical engineering qualification combined with demonstrated experience in asset management
  • 3 + years previous experience in Asset Integrity, Reliability and Maintenance for minerals, Oil &Gas, Petrochemical, processing plants and fixed plant equipment, essential
  • Proven track record in liaising with key stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and disciplines;
  • Experience in Reliability, Engineering and Technical advancement of the fixed plant equipment.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (i.e. electrical, mechanical and structural) to solve complex problems;
  • Develop and contribute to the delivery of initiatives which support priorities for continuous improvement for both technical and equipment efficiency aspects;
  • Collaborate with relevant departments, suppliers, consultants and contractors to support technical improvements and shut downs; and
  • Support the integrated delivery of projects by the site Engineering team, asset projects or major projects groups;
  • A proven commitment to safety, reflected in consistently safe work practices;
