Our client, a leading building surveying company is seeking to appoint a General Counsel to develop and manage their legal and compliance function.

Reporting to the Managing Director, your role will include:

• Supporting and advising the business on a wide range of matters, predominantly relating to building and construction as well as operational employment, property and general commercial matters, and day to day enquiries;
• Reviewing processes and procedures and ensuring ongoing compliance;
• Supporting the business with respect to any contentious matters or claims which may arise;
• Developing precedents; and
• Briefing external lawyers, when required.

With 7-10 years PQE as a building and construction lawyer from a reputable law firm or from a similar in house environment, you are commercially focused, flexible, efficient and pragmatic.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be our client’s first General Counsel and to make this function your own.
