OPPORTUNITY FOR EXPERIENCED BOAT BUILDERS/SHIPWRIGHT

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Boat Builder / Shipwright to join our successful team at Fibrelite Boats.

Based in O'Connor Western Australia, Fibrelite Boats performs a diverse range of repairs, modifications, and refits to fibreglass, composite, and timber boats. Fibrelite, repairs and maintains all classes of boats from small sailing dinghies to luxury motor yachts. The tasks undertaken are extremely varied and often technically challenging.

With a strong base in the WA marine industry, we pride ourselves on the quality of our work and delivering results beyond our client’s expectations.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will perform range of tasks on recreational and commercial vessels in our workshop and at marinas.

Perform a range of boat repairs and maintenance tasks, from minor gel coat chips to major structural repairs, modifications, and repairs to the vessels operating systems.

The successful candidate will be required to confidently complete projects from conception through to conclusion.

The position is permanent and long term. A generous renumeration package will be negotiated.

Qualifications and requirements:

Minimum completed 3 years’ experience in boat building / repairs.

Experience in surface preparation and the application of Marine coatings.

Competent in all aspects of FRP, including vacuum infusion.

Competent wood worker.

Attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.

A focus on safety.

Honesty and integrity in all dealings

Manual driving license.
