Construction Industry Aftermarket Manager


About the role

As the Construction Industry Aftermarket Manager, you will be responsible for driving optimal sales performance across all WesTrac’s product support segments.

In this newly created role, you will develop and own the strategic view of the CI aftermarket business and develop solutions that improve our customer experience and increase the value our customers receive from operating their Caterpillar equipment.

The role also requires strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders in the industry customer value chain to build out customer focused plans that deliver WesTrac’s profit, share and growth objectives.

This role is the key link between Caterpillar and WesTrac and the integration and execution of the services growth strategy through robust sales systems and processes.

This role will be reporting to the General Manager – Construction Industries and will have the potential to be based either in our Tomago Facility or our Casula Branch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ongoing evaluation of WesTrac market position in its key segments and developing strategies to capture greater market share in selected areas
  • Develop strategies and actions that improve our customers experience dealing with WesTrac
  • Deploy and embed sales and selling technologies to support ongoing strengthening of sales force effectiveness across the CI group
  • Establish and regular reporting of sales metrics to identify performance levels across key segments and customers, and opportunities for improvement and growth
  • Develop solutions for our customers to maximise the value they receive from our Caterpillar equipment.
  • Maintain governance of IDS and support the sales team to ensure it is leveraging the capability to systemise the capture and delivery of market intelligence and insight, customer service and sales objectives
  • Ownership of input into aftermarket 18 months sales forecast
  • Ensure product lifecycle costs are maintained in a competitive position to support sales strategy
  • Establish and track progress on Caterpillar’s support programs to ensure value is delivered
  • Caterpillar industry group primary contact for development of programmes aimed to grow share of aftermarket opportunity including stewardship of of the Cat leadership table as it relates to CI aftermarket.
  • Leading direct employees to consistently deliver great performance in a safe, customer focused and engaged culture underpinned by WesTrac’s SPARC values

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and the capacity to apply strategic insight into targeted actions and outcomes
  • Deep knowledge of sales force effectiveness systems and processes and their use in driving outcomes
  • Rigor and discipline in executing improvement programs and campaigns
  • Influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Leadership skills to engage and develop capabilities of team members
  • Tertiary qualifications within business sales/marketing discipline
  • Highly developed systems and sales technology capabilities
