About us

Technology Solutions (TS) provides a range of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) services for the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). The business unit sets the strategic direction of ICT in alignment with the business direction. TS is responsible for ICT strategies, initiatives, architectures, policies, projects, applications, and infrastructure services in a multi-sourced environment.

About the role

The role of Solutions Architect will have dual reporting lines, to the Assistant Director Enterprise Architecture and to the Manager Portfolio Delivery (Applications).

As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • The development of the technology solutions and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements ensuring they are inline with the enterprise architectural plan
  • providing authoritative advice and recommendations on technical aspect of system development and integration
  • evaluating impact analysis on major solution and design options ensuring that business requirements are effectively met
  • ensuring that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices including security are applied appropriately

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • proven experience in the development and execution of solution architecture and design of complex systems within complex multi-stakeholder and formalised project delivery environment
  • demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working with one or more of the core platforms used within DJCS, including ServiceNow, Oracle Apex, Pega and webMethods
  • a bachelor's degree or higher in the field of computer science, information technology, software engineering or related is essential
  • five to ten years of network administration, application design or three to five years of additional education and experience is essential
  • Licensure and Certification: Certifications are optional; related certifications available from sources like IBM, Microsoft, etc. – desirable
