Well respected amongst the engineering community, this multi-disciplinary consultancy operates in ten offices globally and has almost 1000 employees. Proudly Australian and privately owned, they work on a variety of unique, complex projects across the built environment.

This has led to significant, sustained growth in the last 10 years but their management structure remains uncomplicated with a greater level of respect for everyone’s contribution to the group. Everyone in the team remains ‘hands-on’; one team.
Purpose of the job
As a new vacancy, this job is open for interpretation, for moulding to suit your specialist skill set. You are likely to have experience working on some of Victoria’s largest infrastructure projects as a DE Lead but additionally, an interest in making a difference across the whole of a business, rather than project by project.

More than accounting your time to billable hours, you’ll be tasked to inspire, consult, and encourage the Victorian business to digital success.
With support from the NSW and WA counterparts who have over ten years’ experience supporting multi-disciplinary projects and maximising the capability of the team, you’ll find ways to educate, promote and skill-up the team of 50 locally.
Day to day tasks

  • Educating the existing team of engineers, designers, drafters, and support staff to embrace data-centric, information rich workflows.
  • Setting up larger projects to be DE compatible (project value $1m+)
  • Ensuring pproject delivery workflows, processes and systems are fit for purpose
  • Co-ordinating with design consultants and stakeholders from within a JV at all stages of projects
  • Presenting to clients and other teams of the importance of DE across the business
  • Ensuring processes state to state are symmetric

Skills and expertise required:
  • Associate degree or Advanced Diploma / similar - in engineering
  • 10-30 years’ experience working with AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit, ProjectWise, BIM and other digital platforms. Navisworks and BIM360 experience helpful.
  • Thorough knowledge of how infrastructure projects are put together in Victoria and an understanding of ‘who’s who’ in the industry.
  • Pride in your work and enthusiasm to work as a team with others
