Position: Mining Engineer

Roster: FIFO Ex Perth 4:3

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Mining/Reporting Engineer to join our operations at Eliwana. Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, this role is responsible for implementing and creating operational reports and supporting the daily planning function in design, planning and analytics role.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Understanding of design standards, procedures and mine physicals and ability to minor design work in Vulcan
  • Undertake data analysis on mining operations and monitor compliance with daily, weekly, and monthly planning horizons. Includes querying data through SQL across multiple databases and reports in Excel and/or Tableau.
  • Analyses of key performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities within the operation
  • Analyse and generate reports on mining production, drill and blast production, mobile fleet performance and processing performance on both a daily and weekly basis.
  • Support the daily planning team in the generation of the 24Hr plan

 Qualifications and skills required:

  • Relevant experience gained as a reporting engineer in a mining or processing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to analyse complex information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill, customer service focused and able to engage with end users
  • VBA, Python and/or R programming languages, desired but not essential
  • Familiar with time usage model, Minestar system, machine learning, desired but not essential
  • Current WA C-Class driving license
