JOB DESCRIPTION

Seeking an experienced Product Engineer to join the office in West Perth.

Role Accountabilities

  • Assist with the development and integration of global Grinding Product Engineering initiatives harmonized through central coordination of resources and expertise.
  • Harmonization of Grinding engineering between Outotec CAPEX project, service and spare part functions
  • Ancillary equipment engineering and design (ie electrical, lubrication systems, trommel, steel and rubber lining systems, liner handler, instruments)
  • Using the wider Product Engineering network for support provide principal technical support to customers
  • Using the wider Product Engineering network for guidance provide global technical sales support 
  • Using the wider Product Engineering network for guidance provide global Grinding engineering for Projects
  • Using the wider Product Engineering network for guidance provide service engineering
  • Design dialogue and collaboration with Grinding Product Design, Grinding Project Engineering and Grinding Manage and Develop Products.
  • Standardization, development and maintenance of manufacturing specifications in support of Grinding Business Line.
  • Provision of ongoing support of Grinding Manage and Develop Products and Commercial Product Management - Service in the development of Productization content and documentation.
  • Provision of ongoing technical support for Commercial Product Management - Service and Spare Part Delivery.
  • Evaluation and selection of suppliers/subcontractors in association with: Sales, Projects, Services and Supply

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from a four-year college/university.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience with mineral processing equipment design.
  • Professional Engineering licenses a plus.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several
  • abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience using an FEA modeling package (Pro-E/Solidworks/NX/ANSYS, etc.).
  • Experience using AutoCAD Mechanical.
  • Ability to understand issues domestically and internationally and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in heavy equipment service or shop related environments
  • Proven ability to take initiative without specific direction in order to identify and anticipate customer needs and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Strong organizational skills combined with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to see beyond immediate assignment to achieve results.
  • Excellent client management and business literacy skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relations with others, at all levels of the organization.
