Paradise Group NT is searching for a highly motivated and driven person who is interested in growing and expanding our already established and successful Landscape Department.

Paradise Group NT is a professional, well respected and established horticulture company with over 30 years’ experience based in Darwin.

Reporting directly to the General Manager you will be responsible for accomplishing the stated Project objectives. Your project management responsibilities include creating clear and attainable objectives, building the project requirements, and managing the constraints of the project management triangle, which are cost, time, scope and quality.

As the Project Manager you will be responsible for bridging the gap between the Landscaping Team and Client. You must have substantial knowledge of the landscaping industry so that you are capable of understanding and discussing the problems with either party. The ability to adapt to the various internal procedures of the contracting party, and to form close links with the nominated representatives is essential in ensuring that the key issues of cost, time, quality and above all, client satisfaction, can be realized.

You must be able to read and interoperate a variety of plans from Surveyors, Site Engineers and Landscape Architects and possess the skills to convey these coherently to your Landscaping team.

During a project you will quote variations as required and work these in to a time frame agreed with the Client. You will also be required to tender for future Landscaping Projects for a variety of Contractors.

To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate: -

  • Ability to connect and build relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Identify and establish new opportunities for departmental growth.
  • Experience in pricing and tendering together with EOI submissions.
  • Highly advanced communication and time management skills are essential
  • Establish, plan and implement strategic development for the long-term growth of the department.
  • Ability to promote and deliver high standards continuously meeting company expectations
  • Management of client reporting, EOM procedures and prompt responses to all client correspondence.
  • Detailed understanding of financial reporting and analysis
  • Sound understanding of Safety, Environmental and Quality systems in the workplace
  • Staff Development, training and succession planning
  • Strategic program scheduling delivering high quality results across a broad scope

Skills required

  • Working knowledge and experience of commercial landscaping - minimum 5 years
  • Minimum 5 years in a Management role
  • Qualified in Horticulture; certified in Turf Management and or Irrigation highly desirable
  • Proficient level of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficient level of Estimating and Tender submission
