Data Information Architect

You will be responsible for helping Endeavour build up and utilise cutting edge data and advanced analytics capability and platforms to establish and enable a data-driven enterprise. As well as being involved in developing target state architecture and roadmaps for Data-based platforms and systems.

Part of your role includes establishing information management standards across the business. Partnering with business stakeholders to determine data requirements and designing solutions to facilitate the availability of information to allow the business to make effective decisions based on accurate data.

In this role you will

  • Provide Architectural oversight of the data management strategy through technical leadership
  • Formulate guidelines (including roadmaps and blueprints) concerning information architecture and management
  • Provide architectural services to business partners, information architecture and management systems design, planning, current system performance, and required solutions
  • Partner with Data Technology Managers and Data Platforms team in establishing standards for the integration of data and establishing quality mechanisms and processes
  • Manage current and target state data architecture artefacts including data placement, patterns, conceptual data models and data systems landscape
  • Design architectural solutions for new initiatives with a focus on data
  • Review, assessment and monitoring of project solution designs
  • Diagnose and solve data architecture and management problems and issues
  • Work with Data Governance, Risk and Portfolio Offices to help assess risk
  • Support the adoption of target-state data architecture by executing on the strategy
  • Alignment to architecture standards and principles to ensure solution decisions are made consistently across the enterprise and in the context of target architectures
  • Improve performance through enterprise information solutions and capabilities – be a champion for master data management, metadata management, reference data management, data quality management, data integration, information management and enablement of effective data governance


Skills Required
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant industry certifications (i.e. TOGAF)
  • Proven experience in a Data Architect role or Enterprise Architecture experience within large, complex environments
  • Ability to translate complicated technology solutions and present to business
  • Superior background in data/information management and data modelling
  • Exceptional communication skills coupled with stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in the development of data architectures and data models for complex systems (conceptual, logical and physical)
  • Solid understanding in database design, including conceptualisation to database optimisation
  • Knowledge of data migration and engineering patterns over on-premise source systems and cloud-hosted platforms
  • Excellent understanding of relational database technologies (SQL Server, Aurion, DB2) and cloud analytics (GCP, Azure, AWS,)
  • Understanding of relevant data management applications and programming languages such as Spark, Hadoop, Enterprise R, SQL
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments, with knowledge of CI-CD tools
  • Excellent understanding of relevant data management applications and languages such as SAS, SQL, Enterprise R


Nice to have
  • Previous experience working within Retail is highly regarded
  • Experience with GCP and Azure Cloud data-based technologies and Snowflake is preferred
