The Role

Develop project specific approaches to management of RAMS activities and demonstration of compliance with European standards EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129
Plan, develop and deliver services to clients using advanced and efficient systems engineering and assurance practice, particularly in the rail industry as part of a multi-disciplinary integrated project team
Perform, review, manage or assess hazard analysis, facilitate workshops, prepare safety cases, undertake verification and validation activities
Delivery of systems engineering services across the spectrum including architecture development, requirements engineering, interface and configuration management and assurance.
Preparation of Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance management plans for delivery of integrated system across multi-discipline and complex rail systems
Safety Assurance planning and management including Hazard Log and mitigation registers
Requirements engineering including development and elicitation of requirements and management of requirements including traceability and change with competency in relevant tools (DOORS, DOORS NG, ComplyPro, Polarian)
Preparation and implementation of Verification and validation plans to demonstrate satisfaction of requirements and support system/ safety assurance case
Identification, definition and management of interfaces including consultation with stakeholders and integration of sub-systems to deliver systems oCompanyomes and objectives
Liaison with design and construction teams for collation and management of evidence and preparation of compliance statements
Preparation and implementation of RAMS and System Assurance reports to demonstrate satisfaction of RAM targets to support system/safety assurance case

Skills and Experience

The suitable candidate must have
Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering) or equivalent (Post graduate Systems Engineering qualifications are well regarded)
Our role levels are based upon an individual’s ability to deliver against key objectives; as a guide a Principal level role requires 15+ years project experience in relevant engineering, rail or transport industries.

Rail or Transport sector knowledge, including tramways, light rail, rapid transit, mixed-traffic metropolitan passenger and freight.
Technical expertise across a broad range of projects and across the full systems engineering or project lifecycle
Understanding of relevant international and local rail sector standards and procedures (in particular EN 5012x series CENELEC standards)
