Due to current business opportunities, we are looking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our fast-growing Power team in the Brisbane or Perth office. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated and high-performing team of Power professionals to deliver a range of significant projects for both public and private sector clients both locally and nationally.

What you’ll do

Accountable for electrical engineering analysis and undertakings as well as upholding and promoting compliance with Australian Standards and relevant regulatory acts of legislation and best practice.
Carry out preliminary and detailed analysis and design of electrical power systems for generation and energy infrastructure and ensure work complies with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works.
Proven experience in delivery of electrical systems for projects in power generation, including specification, concept and detail design, testing and commissioning roles
Highly desirable technical competencies – Hazardous Area – Classification, Design, Installation & Maintenance; Protection System Design; HV Systems Maintenance.
Considers, incorporates and documents safety in design throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare specifications, drawings, reports and other deliverables as required for each individual project.
Clearly communicates concepts, challenges and solutions to the various stakeholders for each individual project.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological advances and technical knowledge in own field of expertise.
Identify opportunities for personal development and bring these to the attention of his or her manager.
Manage projects within project scopes to cost, time, and quality and resource requirements.
Ensure project quality systems are developed and adhered to.
Provide project reports to management and clients as required.
Ensure legislation and company policies and standards are adhered to.
Identify project risks and implement risk management strategies, for both Company and clients.

What we’ll love about you

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering) or Equivalent. Chartered status - RPEQ preferred.
Typically, 5 - 15 years’ experience with a background in Power Generation, Power System Organizationelling, Protection System Design and Construction and/or Commissioning experience.
Competent and experienced in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of projects.
Experienced in managing risk on sCompanytantial projects.
Demonstrated ability to apply safety in design processes on projects.
Delivered best client oCompanyomes/options which have saved the client costs/time.
Experience in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
Proven ability to prepare high level technical reports and review medium size project reports.
Contributes to proposals and pursuits.
