  • Full time, permanent role
  • Salary: $63,184 to $64,824 plus superannuation and annual leave loading
  • 9 day fortnight
  • Based at North Plympton, SA.

What you'll do
Working within our City Operations team our Civil Workers are responsible for supporting all civil maintenance and construction operations in an efficient and safe manner.

This is a role that will see you undertake a variety of tasks on a daily basis, focussing primarily on roads, kerbing and footpaths and public furniture maintenance.

Our Civil Workers are responsible for helping ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community by looking after our property and infrastructure assets and in this role you'll be given the chance to:

  • undertake road maintenance and construction
  • upgrade and maintain the road and roadside furniture
  • undertake footpath and kerbing maintenance and construction
  • be involved with implementing new works programs and projects, ensuring that plans and specifications are delivered on time and within budget.

You'll also be given the chance to lead a small to medium-sized workgroup when required, as well as plan and coordinate work and train employees, including apprentices.

Who you are
As this role is hands-on, it's important that you have the capacity to undertake heavy manual work. You'll need to have great communication skills (both written and verbal), be dependable, motivated and have a high standard of Work, Health and Safety for you and your colleagues.

As each workday provides a new challenge, you must be able to adapt to changing situations as they arise and have good administration skills with regard to record-keeping.

It's important that you can work as part of a team and have an excellent time and organisational skills.

You must have a minimum of essential qualifications as per the following:

  • MR (Minimum Rigid) driver's licence,
  • Trade qualifications in Civil Construction (Certificate III or equivalent) and ;
  • Work Zone Traffic Management certificate.
