The District Council of Cleve is seeking an enthusiastic person to join the Administration team. Employment will be full time for a period of 12 months.

Reporting to the Manager Corporate Services, and working closely with all staff, this role is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of safety strategies, policies and processes to improve safety leadership and a positive safety culture across the organisation.

The WHS & Risk Management Officer will continuously work to improve the Council’s established WH&S systems and procedures, monitoring projects and engaging staff to ensure relevant frameworks and potential risks are regularly reviewed. With a solid foundation already in place, the focus of this role is to support the continuous improvement of health and safety frameworks.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven success in the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of WH&S systems and initiatives across a broad range of areas.
  • Experience supporting Managers and Staff with health and safety issues and translating WHS legislation into practical application.
  • Previous work experience in WHS & Risk Management as it relates to the local government environment.
