About the Role - Electrician (Casual)
We seek a Trade qualified Electrician to join the TEAM at the workshop in Somersby to apply trade knowledge and expertise to the manufacture of high quality electrical switchgear enclosures related to mining conveyor systems. This is a casual position to help during a busy period.
This is a workshop based role, and is responsible for assembly, wiring, testing, inspection, maintenance and repair of electrical enclosures ensuring safety, statutory and quality compliance.

  • Assemble, wire and test electrical switchboards.
  • Test, repair and maintain electrical equipment ensuring safety and quality compliance.
  • Complete field wiring of conveyor equipment to Australian Standards.
  • Complete electrical test and tag, ensuring all electrical equipment is compliant.
  • Apply trade and job knowledge in the assembly of electrical equipment and in the interpretation of electrical schematics and other documentation.

Selection Criteria

  • Trade qualified Electrician (NSW).
  • Experience in wiring electrical switchboards
  • Tickets such as EWP, Confined Space and Fork lift will be well regarded.
  • Previous Mining/Conveyor Industry experience – highly desirable.
  • Experience in intrinsically safe circuits
  • Intermediate level knowledge of safety requirements, safe work practices for performing electrical work to AS standards and to electrical compliance regulations.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings.
  • Experience with both Low Voltage & High Voltage switchgear
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve.
  • A strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Willingness to work outside of hours as required.
