With positive growth across their divisions, Promech are looking to welcome a Structural Engineer capable of managing projects autonomously, to become part of their tight-knit team in Toowong. 

Role Responsibilities: 

Working closely with the Principal Structural Engineer, you will complete the civil / structural engineering tasks across an array of small, medium and large scale projects within Australia and abroad. 

• Complete the detailed structural design works, including steelwork, concrete and foundation design, associated with both new and existing structures including process plant and materials handling structures, buildings, module/skid frames, access platforms and equipment and pipe support systems.
• Complete scoping of structural engineering projects
• Provide engineering sign off on structural design calculations and detailed design drawings.
• Produce technical reports and design calculations suitable for independent review.
• Provide engineering sketches to and subsequently supervise the output of design drafters producing detailed structural design drawings to an Issued for Construction (IFC) level.
• Undertake site inspections and condition assessments and produce associated reports.
• Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and work colleagues both on site and in the office.

About You: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering (essential).
• Registered with the Board of Professional Engineers QLD (ideal). 
• MUST have demonstrated engineering experience in one or ideally a number of the following industries: oil & gas, petrochemical, minerals processing, and water. 
• Demonstrated experience in site inspection and construction surveillance roles.
• Strong grasp of engineering design first principles. 
• Proven experience using the following software: Space Gass and Tedds. 
• Practical knowledge of construction methods and ability to develop practical design solutions.
• Good working knowledge of relevant Australian and International codes.
• Proven experience in scoping and estimating engineering design projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
