Our client, a successful expanding owner-operator, is currently seeking several experienced underground mining engineers including a Ventilation Engineer. With a proactive attitude to safety and self-driven work ethic and strong capability for assisting the team in achieving mine production/development targets, this may be the role for you!

Ventilation Role duties include: 

  • Be responsible for the Mine Ventilation Management Plan, policies and procedures.
  • Conduct both Primary and Secondary statutory ventilation surveys as required.
  • Ensure correct ventilation is considered in mine design and operations planning.
  • Ensure that adequate primary ventilation is maintained to enable and support planned mining rates and activities.
  • Ensure that adequate secondary ventilation is maintained to enable and support planned mining rates and activities.
  • Ensure that all mine areas are monitored and measured for the purposes of ensuring adequate airflow throughout the mine, and to provide a safe workplace for mine operations staff
  • Propose improvements to ventilation systems in the mine and act to remedy any defects observed in existing vent systems and report on any deviations, unexpected outcomes or process losses
  • Be the site Ventilation Officer
Required skills & experience:
  • Tertiary qualified Mining Engineer
  • WA First Class Mine Manager Certificate of Competency (desirable) 
  • 3 years + underground postgraduate mining experience
  • Solid analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Underground mining experience (Ventilation (desirable)
  • IKON Firing training and experience (desirable)
  • Strong computer skills (Deswik highly desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
  • Valid C Class Drivers licence
  • Ability to pass mining pre-employment medical and police clearance
  • Full Australian working rights and fluency in English

This permanent full-time position is offered as FIFO from Perth on a family friendly 8/6 roster. This role is offering a generous base salary plus super.
