JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client, a well-established owner-operator is currently seeking several Underground experienced Mining Engineers to join their team for several vacant roles - Drill & Blast, Production Engineers, Planning Engineers, Project Engineers & Senior Mining Engineers. We are looking for engineers with a proactive attitude to safety, self-driven work ethic, a strong capability for assisting the team in achieving mine production/development targets.

Role duties include:


  • Production drill & blast design
  • Ventilation planning and surveying
  • Weekly planning and optimisation of ore extraction through effective short and medium-term mine scheduling,
  • Stope designs and extraction sequences, track and analyse cut plans
  • Projects management and planning
  • Contractor management and planning
  • Liaising with geotechnical engineers and geologists to ensure a current and complete understanding of ground conditions and ore systems
  • Assist with the implementation of a continuous improvement program and identify any improvements which can be made
  • Provide visible safety leadership and promote a positive safety culture ensuring the health and safety of all personnel involved in operations
  • Liaison with the production team and the client regarding planning and alerting them to any issues
  • Daily monitoring, recording and optimisation of development and production progress

Required skills & experience:


  • Tertiary qualified Mining Engineer
  • First Class Mine Managers Certificate (desirable) or Shift Supervisor’s certificate or completion of Underground time
  • 2 years plus Underground Hard Rock Mining engineering experience
  • For the Planning engineer role – a minimum of 6 months planning experience
  • For the Senior Mining Engineer role - a minimum of 1-year senior experience
  • Strong computer skills (Mining software experience such as (Deswik (preferred) or Surpac)
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
  • Valid C Class Drivers licence 
  • You must be currently in Australia and have full Australian working rights 

These roles are offered on a family-friendly 8/6 FIFO basis from Perth. This role is offering a generous base salary & super. The company will cover full relocation and assistance from interstate.
