Alstom has been awarded the PTA Australia’s $1.6 billion Railcar Program. As part of the project we will design, manufacture and maintain 246 new railcars needed for METRONET projects and the replacement of the A-series trains. We will also deliver 6 DMU railcars to replace the five diesel railcars that operate the twice daily Australind service between Perth and Bunbury.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Engineer to manage, control and provide a timely execution of Change Requests, including acceptance and satisfaction of our customer, Perth Transport Authority. This role will implement the Configuration and Change Management process for our local Metronet project.

This integral role will report directly to the Chief Operations Director and will work closely with Production, Planning, Quality and Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Manage, control and provide a timely execution of Engineering Change Requests.
  • Ensure timely execution of changes agreed in Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • Implement Engineering change in Manufacturing activities for our Bellevue Facility and Norwergup Site.
  • Ensure train configuration is being followed with all documentation and traceability available.
  • Represent a managing interface between our Facility and Project Configuration & Change Manager and other stakeholders within our organisation.
  • Perform quality, cost and delivery impact analysis and review for presenting at CCB meetings.


Qualifications, Skills And Experience Required Include
  • Qualified Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial & System Engineer.
  • Desirable to have Rolling Stock experience.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience working with SAP, for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration management.
  • Knowledge in SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
  • Demonstrated experience with time management and able to make necessary informed decisions.

This role will initially be based our Perth office and then our Bellevue facility by mid 2021. We have a lot on offer for our employees and this is a very exciting time to join our project.
