Boeing Aerostructures Australia (BAA) is Australia's industry leader in design and manufacture of composite flight-control components for commercial aircraft, including the 737, 747, 777, and 787 models. We are seeking a graduate Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer to join our team based in Port Melbourne. We are looking for a motivated individuals driven by the desire to achieve in a high technology industry, someone who will embrace our company’s values and is willing to innovate.


  • General knowledge of the design process, configuration control, materials and processes
  • Provision of effective and timely advice as requested from managers and engineering personnel
  • Good understanding of structural requirements and their verification and validation
  • Collaborates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools
  • Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analysing improvements
  • Assists in developing processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort

  • Tertiary qualification within Engineering is essential
  • Knowledge of airworthiness requirements and design standards
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Good general knowledge of aircraft structures
  • Demonstrated ability in mathematical reasoning
  • Ability to collaborate and support in a team oriented environment
  • Knowledge and experience with CATIA V5/V6 and FEM is highly desirable

Additional Information

This is an Enterprise Agreement position classified as Engineer / Scientist 1A. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3 month probationary period.


Our Engineering team is involved in research and development, structural design and manufacture of a range of Boeing aircraft components, including components for the 737, 747, 777, and 787. The role offers the opportunity to work on some of the world's largest aerospace projects.
