We are currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Electrician on a permanent basis to carry out maintenance on Queensland Rail Facilities assets such as stations, offices, depots, footbridges etc.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work in a team environment (either individually or in a team), planning own work, taking responsibility for work outcomes and identifying productivity improvements
  • Consult with customers and make decisions directly effecting programmed work and customer requirements
  • Provide for the day to day operation and be accountable for the continual improvement of service provided to meet customer requirements
  • Efficient fault finding and switchboard maintenance in an acceptable tradesperson like manner
  • Ensure that work carried out is in accordance with the Electricity Act, AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and all other Statutory Regulations


Hours are Monday to Friday with an LDO every fortnight. Some weekend work and overtime may be required and must be able to commit to being on call approximately every 4 to 6 weeks, penalty rates apply.

Ideally you will have experience performing low voltage electrical maintenance duties on buildings and other facilities with a focus on fault finding and switchboard maintenance.

To be considered you must hold a current Queensland Electrical License, Current CPR 12 Months Certificate, Low Voltage Certificate and a Driver’s License as travel is a large component of this position.

Starting salary: $61,055 base salary + allowances + super + rail pass (home and duty)
