Role and Responsibilities

  • Set and adjust the target costs for all projects of Australia, and report to the group cost control centre for approval.
  • Providing feasibility cost advice, undertaking feasibility studies for projects and preparing monthly cash-flow forecasts.
  • Maintaining currency with latest industry trends and market conditions with regards to costing issues.
  • Providing support to all projects on all aspects of cost planning, cost reporting and cost forecasting.
  • Responsible for pre and post contract quantity surveying duties including cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration and variation.
  • Monitor and control the expenses throughout the whole property development process, disclose feedbacks from the group on time and coordinate between all departments.
  • Supervise the tendering and contract signing of each project and control all related cost for procurement.
  • Control construction fees and procurement expenses, and responsible for getting approval from the group cost control centre.
  • Reviewing and signing-off of cost plans for all projects.
  • Overseeing the resource management for cost planning and contract administration activities.
  • Report the cost of all Australian projects to the senior management team and the group cost control centre, give reasonable advices on cost control. Make effective plans for cost assess and cost control, monitor the execution in all departments.
  • Evaluate and document all fund requisitions, categorize and summarize all expenses, provide the cost optimization suggestions
  • Conducting review of designs for all new projects and reporting on design efficiency
  • Measurement of quantities based on design drawings
  • Checking changes to design, assessing impact on costs and control any potential extra cost
  • Construction phase cost management including assessing contractors' monthly progress claims and variations
  • Maintaining cost management database for all past projects for benchmarking and referencing for future projects.
  • Maintaining current and accurate rates database on a trade and element basis.
  • Ensuring consistency of all cost planning and reporting processes across all projects.

What we need

  • Proficient in project settlement, familiar with all related cost in the process of property development, and has rich experience as reference.
  • Proficient in using cost management related software and chart calculation, have rich experience in tender and bidding estimates analysis and evaluation
  • Experience in the cost management for whole property development process of large project
  • Have a proven track record of producing successful tenders on large scale residential builds
  • Diligent and able to work consistently to deadlines under tight time frames

Key skills

Highly computer literate, detailed and methodical.

Strong attention to detail.

Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.

Typical experience

Bachelor degree or above in Quantity Surveying or equivalent

Have minimum 5 years working experience in Australian Top-Tier builder and Property Developer
