About the Position

Cowra Council is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our Engineering team. The Engineer - Water & Wastewater Systems is primarily responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of Council’s Drinking Water Management System with specific emphasis on improvement planning and implementation, sewerage treatment process optimisation, and planning and delivery of water, wastewater and other projects so that the objectives of Council's Operational Plan are met in a timely manner.

Applicants must have a civil engineering degree with professional engineering industry experience. Applicants must also have experience in being able to progress projects from design phase through tendering to supervision of construction. Familiarity with local government tendering and contract management is essential. Experience with water and wastewater infrastructure including pumps and electrical systems would be advantageous.

The successful applicant must have demonstrated computer and design software experience including Microsoft and AutoCAD. Applicants will possess high level written and verbal communication skills along with strong customer service, time management and organisational skills.

Position Details

  • $1,824.49 based on a 35hour week
  • Employer Superannuation of 9.5%
  • Employment conditions are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award
