The Role
Ernest Henry Mining currently has an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer within the Mobile Maintenance department. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing projects, analysing breakdowns and creating engineering models to assist the Mobile Maintenance team.
This position is locally based in Cloncurry, DIDO from Mount Isa and FIFO from Townsville or Cairns. The successful candidate will work twelve (12) hour shifts on an eight (8) days on, six (6) days off roster.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Identification, design and implementation of projects to improve performance and efficiency of existing processes;
- Management of capital projects including budget and schedule control;
- Manage projects and teams to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria;
- Performing engineering calculations, structural inspections and scope of works development;
- Promoting and maintaining a high level of safety performance through personal commitment and application of EHM procedures and standards;
- Develop and implement asset management plans, budgets, and systems to ensure the mobile maintenance department achieves its strategic objectives;
- Manage the fleet procurement and maintenance processes and policies to drive continuous improvement and facilitate the delivery of a safe, efficient, and effective underground and surface mobile fleet;
- Providing technical support to maintenance teams and other UG departments as required;
- Identify and solve issues affecting reliability while applying appropriate standards and systems;
- Maintain compliance with Australian standards and legislation.
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with at least 3+ years’ experience;
- Previous engineering experience with Mobile Maintenance in the mining industry;
- A proven safety record, good communication skills, the ability to work unsupervised and within a team;
- Experience in Asset Management and Root cause analysis will be an advantage;
- An understanding in maintenance management systems (SAP);
- Experience with 3D CAD, Solid work and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs is favorable for this position;
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) would be highly regarded.
