Job Description

DXC currently has exciting opportunities within our Defence Synthetic Warfare training team. Our passionate and growing team are driving the next generation of training capability for the Australian Navy. For DXC’s Defence team our expertise is making a difference to the warfighter each and every day, using great technology in that journey.

The DXC CSSIM (Combat Systems Simulator) team is responsible for delivering Synthetic War fighter training capabilities for the Royal Australian Navy. This position entails performing all aspects associated with Independent Verification and Validation of the DXC CSSIM solution.

Take Responsibility For Contributing To All Elements Of The Verification & Validation Components Of The Project, Including

In this highly dynamic role, you will be working within a defence project team with consisting 50+ people.

  • Requirements analysis;
  • Authoring of V&V plans and test procedures;
  • Execution of the test procedures in the context of dry runs and in customer facing formal testing.
  • Contribution to the test reporting;
  • Proactive involvement in issue and defect management activities.
You are self-motivated working in team situations or working autonomously, and communicate well. You are confident taking ownership of product development and documentation and comfortable contributing in a process driven environment.

Experience Required
  • Current active NV1 Security Clearance is a mandatory requirement
  • Experience in software detailed design and construction
  • Use of software configuration management tools
  • Use of requirement management tools
  • Use of defect tracking systems
  • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience


Technical Skills Required
  • Coding. Experience with either ADA or Java (Basic HMI or UI) preferred. If you don’t have ADA experience, C or C++ can be ok as it’s similar to ADA and can be trained in ADA.
  • Design. Software detailed design and construction
  • Testing. CSC do all of their testing so previous experience working in test phase essential.

Experience Highly Desired
  • Coaching of less experienced software engineers;
  • Defence industry and associated development lifecycle experience; and Mil Standard 498
  • SDLC / ISO12207 process experience.
