We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Foreman to join our team and help deliver the Sydney Metroproject. The project requires a hands-on team player for the installation scope of the Communications Based Train Control, which consists of signalling equipment rooms, trackside equipment and tunnels for both green and brown fields.

In this role, you will be responsible to work as part of the installation team with Subcontractors and direct workforce to ensure the allocated equipment is installed in conformity with Designs, the IMS, the QA/QC system and the Schedule.


This role will work closely with Subcontract Labour, Project & Design Engineers, Safety & Quality Inspectors, as well as reporting on daily outcomes to the Mechanical Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities for This Role Include:

  • Report technical issues to the Supervisor and coordinate resolutions with the Design and Project Engineers.
  • Provide input for future planning of Mechanical Installation resourcing and materials.
  • Ensure the Supervisor is informed in regard to workforce performance, attendance, quality of workmanship and issues.
  • Record information for the installation tracker to ensure installation progress is adequately tracked and monitored.
  • Monitor EHS performance and implement EHS recommendations, in collaboration with the EHS Manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required Includes:

  • Mechanical Trade qualification with sound technical competence and experience.
  • Previous experience working with rail signalling, communications, security or similar.
  • Expertise handling subcontractors in a complex work environment.
  • Exposure to supporting a diverse and multicultural team.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
