JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a highly experienced full-time EPS/Mechanical Engineering Technician for our Foamex South Australia manufacturing site. In this role you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Foamex -SA team to ensure the efficient, safe and cost-effective operations for the manufacturing site.

Total salary package will depend on experience and will be in the range $55-65k inclusive of superannuation.

About the role

Your duties will include but may not be limited to:

  • Operation of all associated EPS manufacturing equipment.
  • Supervision of required aspects of manufacturing operation as requested by either Factory Supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Mechanical diagnosis and rectification of machine issues.
  • To assist Maintenance / Engineering team in assembling and installing of mechanical equipment.
  • Programming of computing systems and ability to understand AutoCAD or similar engineering design programs involved in the operation of CNC machinery.
  • Assist mechanical trades team in performing routine maintenance and performing any required rectification works.
  • Perform any required tests and /or machine adjustments to ensure quality conformance of product manufactured.
  • To collect and analyze data and carry out any required computations.
  • Monitor stock levels and organise production schedules to ensure required customer order requirements are met.
  • To prepare, read and understand drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work.

Skills and experience

  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of EPS manufacturing process and operation of all associated equipment
  • Ability to mechanically diagnose and rectify equipment issues.
  • Previous experience in leading a production team and co-ordinating all associated activities to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
  • High focus and understanding of OHS and Quality requirements.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Formal training and Mechanical Technician / Engineering qualifications
  • At least 5 years’ experience in EPS industry.
  • Previous demonstrated supervisory experience.
