The role

As part of Saab’s ICT Group, the Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in supporting and developing our high technology platforms across Saab’s operating environments. They will also contribute to the design, deployment and ongoing support of our enterprise wide networks, platforms and systems.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Support system installations, problem solving and testing to ensure availability, validity and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assigned incidents or service requests via a prompt and professional service
  • Work with business and project teams to develop suitable solutions across a wide range of technologies
  • Liaise and maintain working relationships with key staff, projects and partners to resolve issues and faults
  • Work, communicate and cross-skill with other members of the Infrastructure team
  • Maintain, update and create operational, support and end user documentation
  • Participate in an on-call roster providing 24x7 support coverage
  • Perform some afterhours work to support critical issues and maintenance activities
About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Working within a team that supports corporate infrastructure systems and platforms
  • Deploying, administering and managing enterprise environments
  • Technical understanding and working knowledge of many of the following technologies:
    o Virtualisation, i.e. VMware
    o Scripting languages, such as PowerShell
    o Microsoft technologies, i.e. Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Active Directory, DNS, etc.
    o System Monitoring and Reporting technologies
    o NetApp Storage
    o Backup technologies, i.e. Commvault
    o Firewall technologies, i.e. Palo Alto, FortiNet
    o Networking technologies and management, i.e. Routing, Switching, etc.
    o Load balancing, i.e. Citrix Netscaler
  • Strong understanding and commitment to customer service and continuous improvement
  • Proven and effective problem solving skills with the ability to research, analyse and make specific recommendations
  • An understanding of information security principles and their operational application

As Defence (NV2) security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance. International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations also apply and your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
